Course Objective
This course provides an overview of a chiller and refrigeration system’s operation and maintenance.
What is chiller and refrigeration system?
Chiller is a crucial component of the air-conditioning system for buildings in a tropical climate. It produces cold water to remove heat from the air and maintain the desired temperature in a building. It also provides cooling for process loads such as file-server rooms and large medical imaging equipment. As with other types of air-conditioning systems, most chillers extract heat from water by mechanically compressing a refrigerant. Chiller is a sophisticated yet expensive machine. Thus, a preventive and predictive maintenance program is the best protection for this valuable asset.
